Whether you want to cruise a few miles up the coast to Runswick Bay or across an ocean Whitby Yacht Club welcomes new cruising members, both sail and power. We have members with wide and varied cruising experience including, in the last couple of years: Scotland, round Britain, Scandinavia, Holland, the Baltic, France, Spain and an Atlantic circuit.

Yacht racing at Whitby takes place each weekend and occasionally weekdays throughout the season. A comprehensive list of courses, events, results and ratings are available by pressing the appropriate button.
Racing is open to most types of cruisers and is run on a handicap system, in two classes.
Club members are always available to give assistance to new members, and inexperienced sailors.
Whitby Yacht Club is also a member of NECRA the North East Cruiser Racing Association, its members participate in coastal, passage and regatta races with clubs ranging from Scotland to the Humber.
