Whitby Yacht Club Clubhouse

Opened in 1938 and extended in 1976 with a well-appointed clubhouse, bar, balcony and training suite, Whitby Yacht Club’s Clubhouse is the envy of many.

Situated on the west side of the harbour at the end of Pier Road above the RNLI old lifeboat building, we have more than just outstanding panoramic sea views. From the balcony across the harbour to the east you can see Tate Hill Sands where the ship carrying Bram Stoker’s Dracula ran aground, a little to the right the 199 steps take your eyes up to St Mary's Church, nestling in the shadow of the historic Whitby Abbey. There is nowhere better placed in Whitby to embrace friendship, discuss days on the water or simply relax with a drink and watch the shadows lengthen as the sun goes down.

We’re a hospitable and informal club that knows how to have fun; we hold regular entertaining social functions, BBQs and suppers. The club is open each Friday and Saturday evening from 8.30pm throughout the season, April to October. Visiting boat crews are welcome.
